Our parish’s new Rosary Garden was officially opened and blessed on Sunday 15 December by the parish priest Fr Peter Hoang OP.
The garden transforms a section of wasteland between the southern side of the church and the neighbouring Regis aged care facility.
The Rosary Garden development was funded entirely by donations over the past two years.
The area features a large wooden cross at the apex of a pathway and the restored statue of Our Lady which for many years resided in a bush grotto alongside the church and priory.
Up to a hundred people attended the blessing and the annual parish sundowner which followed.
The garden, planted with lawns, trees and vines, will serve as an enclave for quiet contemplation and prayer. It is lit at night.
Our Lady’s statue is surrounded by an embankment of rose bushes in honour of deceased members of the parish community.
The picture gallery captures highlights of the ceremony and the social gathering.
