Doubleview Parish celebrated its origins and ongoing status as a beloved Dominican community at a special Mass and morning tea on Sunday 1 August 2021.
The occasion marked the 800th anniversary of St Dominic’s death.
More than 150 people turned out for the occasion on a cold wet morning.
Parish priest Fr Peter Hoang OP spoke of the enduring values of the Dominican tradition and the ways it had enhanced our parish which was founded in the late 1950s.
The celebrations were arranged by the new Parish Pastoral Council which is also rolling out other activities to capture the Dominican story.
